BASES LOADED: MSC Cruises hits a home run with fans dreading “baseball withdrawal” after the World Series. A Baseball Theme Cruise aboard the new MSC Opera features a lineup of all-time greats, including Hall-of-Famers Bob Feller and Earl Weaver. Also on the roster: Vida Blue, Tommy Davis, Bert Campaneris, Graig Nettles, Darrell Evans, Stan Bahnsen and Dave Campbell. They’ll share memories of playing days as the ship departs Dec. 11 on a seven-night Western Caribbean itinerary that calls at the Florida Keys' Port of Key West, Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Roatan Island. Guests can test their baseball knowledge in a player-hosted trivia game, participate in question-and-answer sessions and obtain player autographs. Players also will host pitching, hitting and defensive strategy clinics. Guests can take a “seventh-inning stretch” from all that baseball talk by exploring Cozumel’s Mayan ruins, snorkeling in the Grand Caymans and swimming with dolphins in Honduras. Add to that Italian cuisine, ambiance and exceptional service of the line’s “Premium Class With a True Italian Signature.” Cruise-only fares begin at $495 per person, double occupancy. Best-available ocean view staterooms begin at $995 and suites begin at $1,850 per person. For details, call (800) 666-9333.
