TRAVEL CHANNEL GOES TO SEA: Viewers accustomed to touring the world's great hotels with popular host Samantha Brown can join her at sea on Oct. 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT as the travel pro explores new waters during her first cruise vacation. Travel Channel is the only television network devoted exclusively to travel entertainment. Filmed onboard Royal Caribbean International's Brilliance of the Seas, “Samantha Brown’s First Cruise” packs 12 night's worth of onboard adventure, shore excursions, sightseeing, fine dining, and pampering into a one-hour special. Viewers glimpse Barcelona, Nice, Florence, Naples, Rome and Venice, Dubrovnik, and Corfu. While in port, Brown takes shore excursions, including a gondola ride in Venice, a minibus excursion to Rome's treasures, a visit to country homes in Croatia's Konavle Valley, and a four-wheel drive with off-road exploration and dining in Corfu. Not one to sit back with a book, Brown scales the ship's rock-climbing wall, unwinds with a seaweed wrap in the Brilliance Day Spa, and attends a masquerade ball. In 2005, three other Royal Caribbean ships also sail in European: Legend of the Seas, Splendour of the Seas, and Jewel of the Seas - the line's newest ship. Three- to 14-night sailings include cities in France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Croatia, Scandinavia and the U.K. Check out Metroguide.com’s cruise port guide at www.portofcallguide.com
