CCL Gets Cozy With 'Today's' Amenities...

NEW WAVES FOR BEDDING DOWN: A new sleep system manufactured exclusively for Carnival Cruise Lines is the latest in a series of cozy cabin amenity upgrades that are part of “Today’s Carnival.” The Carnival Comfort Bed ensemble, including custom pillows, duvet and cover, pillowcases and mattress set, provides lavish shuteye surroundings for shipboard sleep. Already on some Fun Ships, the new beddy-bye system, goes fleetwide by year’s end. The European-manufactured Carnival Comfort Bed features an eight-inch spring mattress designed exclusively for CCL, plus a duvet made from 100 percent hypoallergenic down, and high-quality cotton blend sheets. Duvet covers and pillowcases are of an ultra-fine, ring-spun, satin-striped cotton, creating a luxurious, comfy sleep environment. New Generation Pillows, of non-allergenic micro fiber for fluffy, down-like consistency, will be in all staterooms. For suites, a special "suite pillow menu" covers different types, from luxury goose down to a firm latex. “A restful, luxurious sleep is an important component of the vacation experience and we are extremely excited about this opportunity to brand a high-quality sleep system with the Carnival name,” said Bob Dickinson, Carnival president and CEO. Other stateroom upgrades now on Carnival’s ships are fluffier towels, plush terrycloth robes in all ocean view staterooms, in-shower soap/shampoo dispensers, and in-cabin amenities baskets filled with name-brand product samples. Overall, today’s Carnival is a far cry from beginnings aboard the Mardi Gras. CCL's 20 Fun Ships sail to the Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, New England and Europe. Two more SuperLiners, Carnival Liberty and Carnival Freedom, are set to enter service by February 2007. To book, call (800) CARNIVAL.
