Port Everglades Site Gets A Facelift

PORT EVERGLADES NITTY-GRITTY: In Fort Lauderdale, Port Everglades has a new web site at www.broward.org/port, with more than 200 content-rich pages offering quick, convenient access to info for the public, biz community and maritime industry. A “one-click” strategy lets users move easily between site sections. Navigational channels include Cargo, Cruise, Petroleum, Port Business, Security and Community. An About Us section covers port history, with links to operating stats. A News section houses updates and press archives. The Breaking News section keep site users abreast of traffic reports, emergency procedures and upcoming events. Users can “opt-in” to receive Port communications via e-mail. The home page also showcases ship schedules, maps, and cruise passenger info, and the site has a streaming video of the Port 2020 Master Plan. As a South Florida economic engine, Port Everglades ranks as the second busiest cruise port worldwide, generating $2.4 billion in annual activity.
