CCL Plays Switcharoo ...

Redeployment for Miracle, Legend: Long operating under an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" policy, Carnival Cruise Lines can't help but tweak on monumental success now and then. Hence, it'll switch homeports of 2,124-passenger SuperLiners Carnival Legend and Carnival Miracle in spring 2007. Legend, now sailing from New York and Fort Lauderdale, will reposition to Tampa for year-round seven-day western Caribbean voyages departing Sundays, starting April 15. Miracle will leave Tampa to sail out of New York and Fort Lauderdale on eight-day Caribbean cruises, starting April 25. Why the shift? “Carnival is always seeking ways to keep our product fresh ... we’re providing these markets with exciting new ‘Fun Ship’ vacation choices,” said Bob Dickinson, president and CEO. Sisters, except for decor, booked stateroom numbers remain the same. Part of Carnival’s 88,500-ton “Spirit-class,” Carnival Miracle and Carnival Legend feature a host of lounges, bars and fun venues, including an upscale supper club. For details, call 800-CARNIVAL.
