Environmental CYA ...

Not to Muddy Waters With Too Much Claptrap, But: Operating companies for Carnival Corp. & plc have wrapped implementation and certification of their respective environmental management systems to ISO 14001 standard, landing certifications by four internationally recognized maritime regulatory agencies in recognition -- according to Carnival -- of “Carnival’s commitment to systematic management of its processes, products and services to minimize environmental impact. " Certification agencies include Italy's RINA, Germany's Germanischer Lloyd, North America's Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, and the UK's Maritime and Coastguard Agency. They attest that each operating unit’s Environmental Management System (EMS) for Operation and Management of Cruise Ships meets the ISO 14001 standard established by the Geneva-based International Organization for Standardization, promoting development and implementation of international standards, including those for environmental management. Carnival is "committed to operating its vessels in the most environmentally friendly manner possible, and to receive this ISO 14001 certification speaks volumes,” said Micky Arison, chairman.
